Express Entry Program

Program Options

There are four options that an individual can qualify under this program as follows:

  • Federal Skilled Workers Program
  • Federal Skilled Trade Program
  • Canadian Experience Class
  • Provincial Nominee Program

Program Criteria

Individuals are assessed under a point system based on a number of factors which results in scoring points. The total maximum is 1200 points. Every two weeks a draw is made and applicants who are above the numbered drawn are invited to apply. The first draw in January 2015 (when this program started) was 886 points. The scoring points of the last draw (13 November 2015) was 484.

 

How Points are given

Applicants are given points based on the following parameters:

  • Age (100 points) age 20 to 29 – 100 points 45 or over 0 points
  • Education (100 points) – BA 112 , Masters 126 Ph.D. 140
  • Official Language (150 points) most require a minimum of 6 in each of the 4 categories of IELTS test.
  • Canadian Work Experience (70 points)
  • Transferable skills (100 points)
  • Labour Market Impact Assessment (LMIA) (600 points)
  • Provincial Nomination (600 points)
